Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative mindset to keep local systems consistent with company-wide standards and scalable for growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer corporate IT operations across a modern, cloud-first stack: SaaS applications, cloud-managed endpoints (Mac and Windows), networks, meeting room AV, and endpoint security tooling, to ensure reliable performance and a strong security posture.
- Serve as the primary L1 to L2 IT support contact during European business hours. Support on-site staff at Balma, remote users across the EU and aligned EMEA time zones and any North American users with overnight issues raised while Vancouver and Minnesota IT teams are offline. Triage and resolve issues directly, escalating to Vancouver or Minnesota when North American coverage comes online. Provide support in French and English.
- Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery processes of corporate systems to protect data and ensure swift recovery from system failures.
- Design, configure, and maintain office network infrastructure: VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, 802.1X port authentication, DHCP, DNS, site-to-site and remote-access VPN, and enterprise wireless. Lead the Meraki rollout in Toulouse, replacing the end-of-life Sophos APX estate.
- Manage the hardware lifecycle for EU staff, including procurement coordination, commissioning, decommissioning, and maintaining accurate asset inventory.
- Execute joiner, mover, and leaver workflows through Okta and downstream systems, ensuring timely access provisioning, lifecycle changes, and offboarding in coordination with HR.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve escalated issues and manage IT integrations across EDA subsidiaries.
- Support IT projects and proofs of concept, contributing technical expertise and executing post-acquisition systems integration and tool consolidation across EDA entities.
- Document procedures and develop user guides in French and English to maintain a knowledge base and provide clear IT instructions to staff.
- Build and maintain IT automation and integration workflows using scripting, and low-code/no-code automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar). Develop integrations and automated processes for provisioning, access management, reporting, and operational tasks by orchestrating between APIs and workflow tooling.
- Participate in on-call rotation, resolving critical IT issues promptly to maintain system availability and business continuity.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, network administration, system administration or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in IT systems administration, covering infrastructure, networks, and user support. Candidates without a degree will be considered with 5–7 years of hands-on IT experience.
- Ideal candidates will have experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), virtualization technologies, and disaster recovery planning. Familiarity with post-acquisition IT integration and vendor management is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across macOS, Windows, and Linux, with solid command-line expertise
- Hands-on experience with endpoint management solutions (Intune, Jamf or equivalent)
- Good networking knowledge (VLANs, routing, VPN, Wi-Fi, 802.1X) and experience with enterprise network platforms (e.g., Meraki)
- Proficient in administering key SaaS tools (Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence) and identity solutions (Okta, Entra ID), including SSO and MFA
- Comfortable working in cloud-first environments, with working knowledge of AWS or Azure
- Experience with modern security approaches, including MDM and Zero Trust Network Access tools
- Fluent in French & English for user-facing IT support
- Strong communication skills to explain technical topics and document clearly (tickets, runbooks)
- Well-organized, with effective ticket management and prioritization across time zones
- Approachable, service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative, able to work with distributed teams and autonomously when needed
- Strong problem-solving skills in complex IT environments
